Love My Hair organic Henna

Love My Hair henna is certified organic and Halal, and is endorsed by Beauty Without Cruelty and Vegan SA. It is a pure plant powder and does not contain any metallic salts, picramic acid or any other chemical additives at all.

Henna powder comes from the dried and crushed leaves of the shrub Lawsonia inermis. It has been used for centuries for its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, as well as its well-known ability to colour, condition and strengthen the hair. Henna helps to seal the hair cuticle, thus preventing breakage and increasing shine. It also helps to prevent hair loss and assists in clearing up dandruff and other scalp and skin ailments.

Pure henna is an orange/red dye. It cannot lighten hair, so black hair will develop some red highlights in sunlight, blond or grey hair will go orange/red and brown hair will go deep auburn. Henna can be mixed with Love My Hair indigo powder to dye hair in shades of brown to black.

Love My Hair henna can also be used on the skin for henna art. It can be mixed with Love My Hair pure indigo powder to create darker colours.

Instructions:
- Mix henna powder into a thick but liquid paste with warm water using a non-metallic bowl and spoon.
- Apply the paste to freshly washed dry or slightly damp hair using your fingers. Apply in sections, making sure all your hair is covered, pile your hair on top of your head and cover with clingwrap and a towel.
- Leave it on your hair for 1-4 hours depending on the colour result you want. The longer you leave it on the more vibrant the colour will be.
- Rinse thoroughly until the water runs clear, shampoo and condition.
- If you hair feels dry after using henna, give your hair oil treatment with organic, extra-virgin coconut or olive oil.

Some people mix henna powder with lemon juice, tea, coffee and other liquids. Feel free to experiment!

Once the henna powder is mixed with water you can use it immediately or you can wait a few hours to increase the dye release. Adding a little bit of sugar to the mixture can help to make it smoother.

You must do a strand test first to determine your application time and get an idea of the final colour.

100 grams is enough for collar to shoulder-length hair.
