What's a Weighted Blanket and How Does It Work?

It's pretty simple. It's a heavy blanket weighing 2-12 kilogram that provides some amazing benefits.
The heavy weight provides a deep, relaxing pressure that mimics a comfortable hug to promote relaxation, stress relief, reduced anxiety, and better sleep.

Occupational therapists call this DTP (Deep Touch Simulation).

It helps to calm people's nervous systems using "grounding," which activates your parasympathetic system and ushers in happy hormones.

Who could benefit from a weighted blanket?

People seek out weighted blankets for help dealing with poor sleep, everyday stress, and general anxiety.

Weighted blankets have a history of use in therapy for a broader set of circumstances as well.
These include insomnia, restless leg syndrome, sensory processing disorders, autism, ADHD, and athletic recovery.

Material:
- Face fabric 100% Cotton, printing fabric; with 8 loops
- two layers of 70gsm micro fiber;
- two layers of 90gsm poly fill;
- glass beads; with 15x15cm square quilting boxes

Washing Instructions:
Cold wash only. We recommend using only gentle detergents, DO NOT add fabric softeners.
If Machine washing check the maximum load weight of your washing machine before washing the blanket.

Once washed lay the blanket flat to dry. This will ensure the glass beads dry evenly in the inner fleece and won't clump up.

Flip and shake the blanket every few hours while drying (ensure you are holding the corners and the inner blanket when doing this so the ties are supported)

Notes:
When choosing the right size weighted blanket we recommend 7-13% of your actual body weight.
Getting used to a weighted blanket normally takes 2-7 days.
Weighted blankets are a personal use blanket, and not designed as a bedspread,
Is designed to fit over the individual using the blanket.
A weighted blanket would be smaller than an ordinary blanket as it’s only supposed to cover your body and not the bed.
Ideally, the blanket will cover from your chin to over your feet.
Having the blanket any larger would be wasting the blanket on the bed.
