Coco and Perlite Bundle - 20L Coco Peat with 5L Perlite

Coco and perlite are often mixed together to use as a growing medium. The coco peat holds enough oxygen, even when totally saturated, to support the roots of the plant. Perlite is added to the coco to improve drainage.

Coco peat does not contain the nutrients neccessary for plant growth so nutrients must be added for a successful grow and harvest.

Coco peat, a.k.a. coco coir/coco pith/coco soil, is a 100% natural fibre made of coconut husks, it's a natural growing medium. Coco has excellent water retention and when fully saturated it still holds around 22% oxygen - Roots need both water and oxygen to thrive.

Perlite is added to the coco to improve drainage, helping prevent overwatering and it increases the amount of oxygen available to the roots.

Perlite can be used as a substrate for propagation of plants and can be mixed in with the coco peat to use a growing medium.
